Oliners Host TEDxOlinCollege Countdown Event!
On October 10, 2020, as part of a global climate crisis initiative, a group of Olin College students hosted a key event on campus: a TEDxOlinCollege Countdown event! TEDxCountdown is a global action to explore and learn about ways to solve the climate crisis. The Oliners streamed the worldwide TEDxCountdown event on the Oval to help raise awareness and promote conversation in Olin's community about climate action solutions.
The event hosted speakers from all over the world and from many different fields, accomplishing the student groups' goal of sparking inspiration and conversation from Olin students in attendance - both those who were seated under a tent next to the Academic Center and those who virtually joined the chat via zoom.
Students that contributed to the campus event included, Allysen Bell '24, Aaron Blust '24, Kate Mackowiak '24, Stella Stark '24 and Karen Hinh '23.
